Busting Three Popular Myths About Hotel Spa

Without a doubt, hotel spas have become massively popular in recent years. In fact, for the second time in the history of CBRE’s introduced “Trends in the Hotel Spa Industry,” spa revenue surpassed room & and total revenue. Certainly, it’s no surprise that spas are becoming popular each year, and customers are starting to view it as an essential element in their travel package. As it becomes more common, it is prone to misjudgments and myths. So, this post will discuss and bust four myths surrounds hotel spas.

Myth 1: If you aren’t sore the next day of spa, then it wasn’t a good treatment

For years, the soreness after the spa was a litmus test for many to understand whether their money was worth it or not. However, in reality, spas are not about soreness. Instead, it aims to heal muscle tension and destress all knots built up in weeks or months. Additionally, spas incorporate oils and balms, thus relaxing you even further. So, to think that you have to be sore the next day is a myth!

Myth 2: The effects of massages tend to fade quickly

This is a very popular complaint when it comes to spas. However, similar to working out, it’s necessary to have frequent spa treatments to understand its full benefits. But that doesn’t mean you need to spend your life savings on getting luxury treatments as well. It just means that you should do your best to destress, relax, and meditate as much as often. ‘Me time’ is highly crucial in the process.

Myth 3: Massages makes you feel better but has no medical benefits

This is a tricky one. Without a doubt, going to a spa is part of personal care and an effective way to destress and relax. In addition, some studies have cited that spa treatments do contribute to overall well-being since we are physically and emotionally at peace. For instance, in a Japanese case study of over 3,000 government workers, the frequency of spas linked to better physical and mental health along with fewer sick days.
